MG Electric Cars: Complete Guide to the 2026 Lineup
MG Motor now offers one of the most comprehensive electric lineups on the French market. From the compact MG4 EV to the Cyberster roadster, including the MGS5 and MGS6 SUVs, the Sino-British manufacturer covers all segments with a price point that’s hard to ignore. Add the EHS PHEV plug-in hybrid SUV to the mix, and you get a lineup capable of meeting most electric mobility needs. The entire range comes with a 7-year or 150,000 km warranty and One Pack battery technology developed by SAIC. Over one million MGs have already been delivered in Europe.
Here are the details for each model available in France, with verified and up-to-date data.
MG4 EV: the best-selling electric compact, restyled for 2026
With over 33,000 units sold in France since its launch, the MG4 EV has established itself as one of the most popular compact electric cars on the market. The 2026 facelift features a completely redesigned interior (new 12.8-inch central screen, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and aerodynamic improvements to gain a few extra kilometers of range.
The lineup consists of three versions: Premium 64 kWh (190 hp, 452 km WLTP range), Premium 77 kWh (245 hp, 545 km WLTP), and the sporty dual-motor XPower with 435 hp. List prices start at €33,490, but with the €6,000 launch discount (valid through March 31, 2026), the starting price drops to €27,490. Energy consumption ranges from 161 to 190 Wh/km depending on the version and the WLTP cycle. All CO₂ emissions values during driving are 0 g/km, in accordance with certification data.
The MG4 remains rear-wheel drive, which gives it handling that test drivers appreciate, with a low center of gravity thanks to the battery integrated into the floor. The car is available at 197 MG dealerships in France. Note that the MG4 is not eligible for the Coup de Pouce CEE incentive due to its production in China, but manufacturer discounts partially offset this lack of purchase assistance.
MGS5 EV: the 5-star Euro NCAP compact SUV
Launched in May 2025, the MGS5 EV replaces the ZS EV and moves upmarket with a more generous size (4.47 m long) and a more modern style. Built on the MSP platform, it is available in two configurations: a 49 kWh LFP battery (170 hp, 340 km WLTP) and a 64 kWh NMC battery (231 hp, 465 to 480 km WLTP depending on trim level).
Initial tests report a real-world energy consumption of approximately 14.2 kWh/100 km on the highway, one of the best in the segment. DC fast charging supports up to 139 kW (64 kWh version), allowing a charge from 10% to 80% in about 28 minutes. Official WLTP consumption ranges from 155 to 166 Wh/km. Pricing: starting at €32,490 (€28,990 with current discount). The Luxury 64 kWh version includes a heat pump and V2L functionality.
MGS6 EV: the family SUV with a 530 km range
The latest addition to the lineup (orders open since March 2026), the MGS6 EV is MG’s largest model at 4.71 m long. It directly competes with the Citroën ë-C5 Aircross, Opel Grandland, and Tesla Model Y. The 77 kWh NMC battery powers two powertrains: a 244 hp rear-wheel-drive version (530 km WLTP, 0-100 km/h in 7.3 s) and a 361 hp Dual Motor AWD version (485 km WLTP, 0-100 km/h in 5.1 s).
The exclusive Luxury trim level offers a very comprehensive standard equipment package: augmented reality head-up display, 12.8-inch touchscreen, heated and ventilated power front seats, panoramic sunroof, 360° camera, and 11 speakers. Electric consumption in the WLTP cycle ranges from 166 to 181 Wh/km. DC charging tops out at 144 kW, which allows for a 10-80% charge in 38 minutes. It isn’t the fastest in its segment, but the price makes up for it: €44,990 for the rear-wheel-drive model, €47,990 for the AWD (€41,490 with the manufacturer’s discount). The MGS6 EV earned a 5-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests.
MG Cyberster: the one-of-a-kind electric roadster
The Cyberster is the world’s first mass-produced 100% electric roadster. It marks MG’s return to its British sporting roots, with a spectacular neo-retro design and an electric soft top that opens in 10 seconds. Two versions are available: a 340-hp 2WD model (starting at €62,990) and a 510-hp 4WD model (€67,990, 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds).
The 77 kWh NMC battery offers a WLTP range of 443 km. Energy consumption ranges from 167 to 191 Wh/km depending on the version. DC charging reaches 144 kW. With a curb weight of 1,985 kg and a full range of features (three screens, power seats, premium audio), the Cyberster positions itself as an alternative to the BMW Z4 or the upcoming electric Porsche 718 Boxster, at a significantly lower price.
MG EHS PHEV: the plug-in hybrid SUV
For those not yet ready to switch to 100% electric, the MG EHS PHEV offers a plug-in hybrid powertrain. This family SUV boasts a combined fuel consumption of 2 l/100 km on the WLTP cycle and CO₂ emissions of 46 g/km. Its electric range reaches approximately 100 km, sufficient to cover most daily commutes without using any fuel.
The EHS is also available in a Hybrid+ version (non-plug-in hybrid) starting at €29,490 with a discount. As for the MGS9 PHEV, billed as the brand’s future flagship model, it is expected soon but does not yet have a release date or official pricing for France.
