Prices and Versions: Which Renault 4 E-Tech to Choose?

The range is available in three trims with two battery options. The Evolution 120 hp (40 kWh battery) version starts at €29,990 with 308 km of WLTP range. It comes standard with the 10.1-inch OpenR Link touchscreen with integrated Google, automatic air conditioning, rearview camera, heat pump, and V2L charging.

The Evolution 150 hp (52 kWh battery) version at €33,490 achieves 409 km of range. The Techno trim (€35,490) adds 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and the Harman Kardon audio system. The top-of-the-line Iconic trim (€37,490) includes heated seats, hands-free electric tailgate, and V2L adapter.

Social Leasing and Financing

The 2025 social leasing program makes the R4 particularly accessible to low-income households. The Evolution 120 hp version is available from €155/month over 37 months (37,500 km), with no down payment after deducting €7,000 in CEE grants. Eligibility requires a reference tax income per household member of less than €15,400/year.

For other profiles, long-term leasing starts at €230/month with an initial payment of €3,100. After the €4,240 "Coup de Pouce" grant, the purchase price drops to €25,750 for the base version.

Range and Performance: Two Complementary Powertrains

Contrary to popular belief, a larger battery does not necessarily mean longer charging times. The Renault 4 E-Tech proves this with its optimized charging technologies.

The 120 hp (90 kW) powertrain paired with the 40 kWh battery offers 308 km of WLTP range. The stated consumption of 14.7 kWh/100 km places this version among the most efficient in its segment. The 0-100 km/h acceleration is achieved in 9.5 seconds, ideal for daily urban trips.

The 150 hp (110 kW) powertrain coupled with the 52 kWh battery increases the range to 409 km, a 33% improvement. Despite the higher power, consumption remains controlled at 15.6 kWh/100 km. The 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 150 km/h facilitate highway travel.

Both versions include the One Pedal mode, allowing the vehicle to slow down and stop using only the accelerator, thus recovering energy during braking. The standard heat pump optimizes range in cold weather.

Charging: Fast and Practical

The Renault 4 E-Tech supports DC fast charging up to 100 kW. At a fast-charging station, it takes 30 minutes to go from 20 to 80%, recovering about 200 km of range during a coffee break.

On a 7.4 kW Wallbox, a full charge of the 52 kWh battery takes 7.5 hours. The standard 11 kW AC onboard charger allows a full charge in 5 hours and 15 minutes on suitable public installations.

With Electra, charge on our network of 400 stations in France. Our ultra-fast installations up to 400 kW guarantee optimal compatibility and transparent rates: €0.49/kWh without subscription, or €0.39/kWh with Electra+ at €4.99/month.

Design and Technologies: The Adventurous Spirit Reinvented

The Renault 4 E-Tech revisits the 1960s icon with an assumed neo-retro style. Its generous proportions (4.14 meters long) offer a modular trunk of 420 liters, expandable to 1,485 liters with the rear seats folded down. The sliding rear bench, adjustable by 16 cm, adapts the space according to needs.

The OpenR Link multimedia system integrates Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store. Wireless smartphone charging and four USB-C ports facilitate connectivity. The 100% recycled textile upholstery reflects the environmental commitment.

Safety and Innovations

The Level 2 Advanced Driving Assist pack includes adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, lane-keeping with active centering, and emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. The optional parking pack integrates parking aids and hands-free parking.

The bidirectional V2L/V2G charging allows powering electrical devices up to 3.6 kW or selling electricity back to the grid. The Plug & Charge system simplifies charging at compatible stations: plug in the cable, and billing is automatic.

Grants and Benefits: Up to €11,240 in Savings

The combination of grants makes the Renault 4 E-Tech very attractive. The ecological bonus reaches €4,000 for reference tax incomes per household member below €15,400 (€3,000 above this threshold). French production guarantees full eligibility.

The "Coup de Pouce" grant adds up to €4,240 depending on income level. The conversion bonus can reach €6,000 for low-income households scrapping a Crit'Air 3 vehicle or one older than 2011 (€2,500 for others).

In total, an eligible household can receive up to €11,240 in discounts, bringing the price of the R4 Evolution below €20,000. Companies benefit from TVS exemption and full tax depreciation.

French Production and Warranties

Manufactured at the Renault plant in Maubeuge in the Hauts-de-France region, the Renault 4 E-Tech supports local industrial employment. The vehicle benefits from a 5-year or 100,000 km manufacturer's warranty, while the battery is guaranteed for 8 years or 160,000 km against manufacturing defects.

Maintaining an electric car remains less expensive than a thermal vehicle: no oil changes, no clutch, and less brake wear thanks to regenerative braking. Only tires, windshield wipers, cabin filter, and brake fluid require regular maintenance.

Compared to the Competition: The R4's Advantages

Compared to the Citroën ë-C3 Aircross (€27,800), the Renault 4 E-Tech stands out with superior equipment and more generous range (409 km vs. 306 km). The Peugeot e-2008 (€34,790) is more expensive for equivalent performance.

The electric Jeep Avenger (€36,500) costs more, and its social leasing starts at €179/month compared to €155/month for the R4. French production also guarantees better parts availability and local after-sales service with 440 trained dealerships.

Our Opinion: Who Is the Renault 4 E-Tech For?

The Renault 4 E-Tech successfully modernizes an icon without distorting it. Ideal for urban families seeking space and modularity, it also appeals to first-time electric car buyers with social leasing at €155/month.

With 409 km of range, the 52 kWh version allows intercity travel without anxiety. Fast charging in 30 minutes transforms long-distance trips into simple, relaxing breaks. The network of ultra-fast charging stations makes electric driving finally practical on a daily basis.
