NewsroomEV Charging Stations in Europe: Electra Chosen by Uber as Preferred Partner

Paris, February 23, 2026

Uber announced today a collaboration with electric vehicle (EV) charging operators in Europe and North America to accelerate the electrification of its driver network.

  • Electra, the only French company selected, becomes a European partner for Uber and a preferred partner for France and Spain.

  • The first phase of the partnership includes the development or expansion of more than a hundred charging points.

  • This partnership marks a major milestone for Electra, confirming its ambition to make fast charging a simple, reliable, and accessible lever to support large-scale transition to electric mobility, particularly for professional drivers.

  • A trusted partner for businesses, Electra currently operates one of Europe’s highest-performing fast-charging networks, with 650 charging points and 500,000 regular users across 10 countries.

Facilitating a Scalable Transition to Electric Mobility

Uber today announced a strategic partnership with five EV charging operators to speed up the electrification of its drivers across Europe. As part of this initiative, Electra has been designated as one of Uber's two European partners and its launch partner in France and Spain.

From the first phase of the framework agreement between Electra and Uber, Electra will develop or expand over a hundred charging points in France and Spain.

For professional drivers covering high mileage—including taxi and VTC drivers, delivery personnel, rental companies, and corporate fleets—electric vehicles are now a viable and natural economic choice, supported by mature technologies and a simple, reliable fast-charging infrastructure ideally located along their routes.

This approach relies on a proven infrastructure already used by over 500,000 drivers, boasting a 99% uptime rate—a critical criterion for intensive use. Charging is ultra-fast, allowing drivers to recover most of their range in less than 20 minutes (and soon in just 12 minutes) via an intuitive mobile app. Charging times are aligned with drivers' natural breaks, ensuring no impact on their work rhythm while delivering immediate savings.

Electra Becomes a Top-Tier Partner for Major Mobility Players

Operating in ten European countries, Electra has established itself in just a few years as a major player in fast charging, recognized for its network reliability (99% uptime) and the simplicity of its user experience.

Uber’s decision highlights Electra’s ability to support large mobility companies whose operations depend on vehicles by providing robust, high-performance, and economically competitive charging solutions. By guaranteeing both infrastructure investment and daily usage, this long-term framework partnership aligns the interests of fleet operators and charging providers, enabling a sustainable acceleration of large-scale electrification.

"Fleet electrification is now the main lever for developing electric mobility. With Uber, we are demonstrating that a structured partnership between a global mobility player and a charging operator can align economic performance with the energy transition. Our ambition is clear: to make Electra the partner of choice for large companies wishing to go electric without compromise," said Aurélien de Meaux, Founder and CEO of Electra, during the partnership announcement.

"Access to charging remains the main barrier preventing plug-in hybrid drivers from switching to full electric. We are integrating our next generation of charging recommendations directly into the Uber app. Uber’s new global charging strategy, in partnership with Electra, will help remove one of the most significant obstacles to electrification," added Laureline Serieys, General Manager of Uber France.

Electra opens an average of two new charging stations per day and is now perfectly equipped to support the growth of professional fleets by offering robust, economical, and industrial-grade charging solutions.
